Playa Delfines

Playa Delfines has plenty of sand and surfers, and it's one of the few places in Cancún where you can take surfing lessons. Although decent waves roll in during hurricane season, they seldom hit "epic" status. Hotels have yet to dominate this small section of coastline, and there's an incredible lookout over the ocean. On a clear day you can see at least four shades of blue in the water, though swimming is treacherous unless a green flag is posted. Playa Delfines is definitely a must see.

Cancun Underwater Museum

Sculptor Jason de Caires Taylor combined art and nature when designing and creating his underwater museums which are off the shores of Punta Cancun. Taylor’s main body of work features more than 400 lifelike statues that serve as artificial reefs to attract marine life. The displays have conveniently been placed in shallow areas for viewing by divers and snorkelers. This underground, artificial habitat also acts as a restoration project to restore the natural reefs that were damaged over the years. Another must see in the extravagant city of Cancun.
